Damien

Damien had been frustrated and hormonal all day. His wolf’s anxiety ripped through him, always exacerbated when Wyatt wasn’t around, and recently it had gotten worse. He didn’t know if it was to do with the pregnancy moving forward, or the fact that Wyatt spent more time away from the Homestead. The continued absences worried at Damien, but he tried to hold on to the last few months.

He could tell that something was bothering Wyatt as well. He'd seemed more agitated and his wolf prowled closer to the surface than it had done in months. While Wyatt was still as attentive and tender as ever, he wished he could see into Wyatt’s head.

He sighed, running his fingers through his hair as he stared down at the lists of numbers in front of him. The funds looked as healthy as ever, but for some reason he couldn't quite concentrate. He kept messing up the calculations and having to start all over again. It added to his anger, especially as the accounts were due tomorrow and the baby had decided that this week was a good time to start using his bladder as a punching bag.

Wyatt had picked up the man by his collar and thrown him bodily across the grass. He roared, his eyes glowing bright gold.

Damien had thought Wyatt was going to kill the other man. It had taken all his skill as an Omega to calm Wyatt's wolf. Afterwards, Wyatt had seemed to come back to himself, but from then on Damien tried to avoid public meetings when Wyatt was by his side.

To make things worse, the pressure to mate had only mounted. It was the logical thing to do. Once mated, their claim to each other would be recognized by everyone. They wouldn't dare approach either of them, for fear of the other's reaction. It also meant that his position in the pack would be more secure. At the moment, he was a valuable asset, but still an Omega.

Plus wasn't it what he said he'd always wanted? Someone to commit to him, to promise to be with him forever and bind their soul to his? To raise a beautiful child and start a family? Wyatt was handing him his dream on a silver platter, but he couldn't quite believe it.

He knew Wyatt wanted to do it. He had
